Coach Marcy Reese
Marcy is a national champion and former member of the United States Archery Team and one of the only female certified bow technicians in Virginia. She's a USA Archery instructor trainer and head coach of our JOAD club. She teaches the NTS (National Training System) the right way, so every archer builds a strong, repeatable shot.

Where are you located?
We're at 2918 River Road West, Goochland, VA 23063 — an easy drive west of Richmond. Formerly Hunt'n'Shak, we're Central Virginia's only full-service archery pro shop.
What are your hours?
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 10am–6pm, and Sunday 11am–5pm. Closed Monday & Wednesday. Call (804) 562-1673 before a special trip.
Do you offer lessons for beginners?
Absolutely. Coach Marcy Reese — a US Open gold medalist and USA Archery Level 4 NTS coach — teaches every level, from first-timers to national competitors.
What bow brands do you carry?
We're Central Virginia's largest Mathews & Mission dealer, and we stock compound, traditional & competition bows plus arrows, sights, releases and targets — everything under one roof.
Do you have a junior program?
Yes — our JOAD team welcomes youth archers and has sent kids to the podium at Indoor Nationals. JOAD practice runs every Saturday.
Can you service or repair my bow?
Yes. Rob, our master bow tech, handles everything from restrings and tuning to full setups — we'll fix what the box stores can't. Walk-ins welcome during shop hours.
Do you host parties or group events?
We do — birthday parties, team-building, and group "Give It A Shot" intro sessions. Call (804) 562-1673 to set one up.
Do I need my own equipment?
Not at all. We provide everything you need for lessons and intro sessions — just bring yourself. When you're ready for your own gear, we'll fit you properly.
